I'm Dinesh Kumar S, the founder of Finance Guided. I started this platform in 2025 — but the real reason I started it goes back further than that.

A close relative of mine was sold an LIC policy that didn't actually fit their needs. The agent explained the right things and skipped the wrong ones. Around the same period, my own family lost money on a financial decision that better information would have prevented. And then I was personally misadvised on a loan — I signed terms I didn't fully understand until I was already paying for them every month.

Three different decisions, three different products, three different moments — but the same underlying problem every time. The information existed. The rules were public. IRDAI, SEBI, RBI, and the Income Tax Department publish everything. But nobody was translating it into plain language for ordinary Indian families before they signed.

So I started doing the translation myself.

I have a B.Sc. in Mathematics and an M.Sc. in Information Technology from the University of Madras. I've worked for 5+ years in accounts payable, GST compliance, bookkeeping, and audit support at a Chennai-based IT services company — which means every article on this site is grounded in how money actually moves through real businesses and households, not just how it's supposed to move in textbooks. And I've spent over a decade reading IRDAI circulars, Income Tax Act sections, SEBI guidelines, and EPFO notifications on my own time. Not because I had to. Because I wanted to understand my own money — and now I'm writing what I've learned for anyone who needs it.
